description This report gives a detailed account of the entire progression of the Final Year Project (FYP): C027 Development of Interactive Software (Statics), which could prove to be useful for readers who are trying to master the basics of solving Statics Problems. The report comprises of 6 main chapters, beginning with the Introduction. The introduction first delves into the importance of Statics in the real world, before listing the objective, scope and planned timeline of the entire project. Following that, the research done at the start of the project is summarized, namely the development of software by previous students, possible programming languages and methods for solving Statically Indeterminate Problems. Statics concepts (both basic and complex) are then explained in detail, with several examples provided to aid understanding. The interactive software is then showcased in the second half of the report, with its main component being the Beam Solver. As the name suggests, the Beam Solver is used in the solving of a variety of Statics problems, as a replacement of the tedious manual method of solving. An explanation on how the interactive software can be utilized is provided, as well as several examples to thoroughly test the accuracy and validity of the software. Thereafter, the benefits and limitations of the interactive software are discussed, before concluding on how it could be potentially improved.
