Summary: | Singapore, Oʻahu and Mauritius are three incredibly different islands in different parts of the Earth. Yet in the time that I spent in each one, I noticed that familiarity seemed to weave in and out of my day to day, and flashes of comfort visited me like old, unexpected memories. I wondered why. Perhaps home is more than four walls or the borders of a country - maybe home is a network of taste, speech, memory and experience that are shared, inherited, and dispersed across the Earth.
How much of our lived experiences here in Singapore are shared with strangers across the oceans?
