Summary:3D printing has been constantly developing and being used in the daily life of humankind. 3D printing process is fast, safe and cost-efficient to the industry. As of today, 3D printing has been developed with new materials, methods, machines and a varsity of applications for human usage. 3D printing is popularly used for manufacturing, designing, medicine and food. In this research, the focus of the 3D printing application is for the aerospace industry sector. Aerospace industry sector continues to grow and develop. New technology such as 3D printing creates a great opportunity for aerospace manufacturing to upgrade their expertise and resolve manufacturing to simple and faster way. 3D printing can manufacture complex structures in which traditional manufacturing methods are not able to fulfil. This is a tremendous advantage to the aerospace industry. In this research, there are sub-topics that are important to be analysed and understood. These sub topics are the functions of axial compressor, compressor blade, 3D printing, types of 3D printing and lattice structures. This research is a combination of these sub topics to produce the 3D printed compressor blade. To design a compressor blade using 3D printing technology, it takes numerous research and studies of these sub functions to meet the objective of this research project which is to improve the manufacturing process and time. In this research, the study and implementation of lattice structure will be used in the design of compressor blade. This is to improve the design of compressor shape with less weight and cooling function of high temperature blade.
