description Breakdown of train system is undesirable and requires the faulty train to be sent back for maintenance. This results in disruption of commuter’s journey plans. It is important to have a monitoring method that can alert the maintenance crew or allow them to have a log of data that can help them pinpoint where the fault might arise from. A monitoring method is developed to hasten the fault identifying process for a faster maintenance process in regards to faults in train door system. The implementation of the monitoring system uses 3 parameters; Voltage, Pressure and Displacement, to monitor the door actuator. The second and third phase of the project involves the addition of a microcontroller to host files for wireless transmission of data and designing of web pages for wireless monitoring.
