description | 5G is termed as our next generation mobile network. It does not just improve traffic capacity and spectrum efficiency, it also allows various kinds of devices to communicate with unprecedented speed and complexity. SMART antenna will be studied in this project in order to improve capacity and spectrum efficiency. SMART antenna is an antenna array which contains spatial information (such as propagation direction) . The antenna array locates and track the signal source intelligently and perform spatial filtering based on this information.
In this project, an new optimisation algorithm termed as BAT algorithm will be studied and applied to beam forming problems in SMART antenna applications. The project will be based on MATLAB simulation and a series of simulation studies including sideline suppression, wide nulling, and array failure correcting and comparison with other evolutionary optimisation algorithms, such as genetic algorithm and partial swam optimisation. |
