Through in-depth interviews with 18 Singaporean men of different backgrounds, our findings illustrate the different lived experiences of these men in transnational relationships as they navigate through various state’s policies. Interviewees have highlighted their lack of awareness with current policies, where some argued that more should be done by the government and others believed that the state should withdraw interventions on their relationship. Moreover, while some respondents perceived the state’s policies as barriers into making life decisions such as marriage, others viewed the policies as less significant to their decision-making processes. |
