This project investigates synthesis schemes to the production of four novel heteroacenes, all with a 5,7-diazapentacene framework. The synthesis schemes include reactions like Sonogashira coupling and Tandem Arylation/Friedel-Crafts reactions. We successfully devised a four-step synthesis scheme to one of the novel compounds. To confirm structure, all synthesized compounds were characterized with a 1H and 13C NMR.
