With the compulsory day off policy for foreign domestic workers introduced five years ago, romance is blossoming among more migrant workers here. But it is a rocky road ahead of them as they face far more obstacles than any ordinary couple. On top of restrictive labour laws, such as an anti-pregnancy law, foreign domestic workers and their partners must juggle familial and societal expectations while working long hours.
However, many still struggle against the odds as they work towards their end goal - a family and home to call their own. |
