description Demand for land is steadily increasing over the years and underground infrastructures will gradually become more vital in our everyday lives. Various forms of indoor infrastructures have already become more common around the world, especially in high densely populated countries like Singapore. A major concern for the acceptance of such initiatives is the indoor air pollution of such enclosed environments and its impact on public health. This project built a low cost wireless sensor network system which is capable of monitoring various air quality parameters from different locations simultaneously. This report will introduce how the system was implemented, and includes the selection and design for both software and hardware used in this project. The system is also designed to be modular, allowing the user to add or remove sensors, thereby increasing the functionality of the monitoring system.
