description Together with the rest of the world, Singapore is moving towards a smart nation, where technology has now become an indispensable part of our lives. Technology has made vast improvements in peoples’ lives, bringing them convenience and efficiency. Mobile phone users are not just found amongst the young people and the working class. These days, it is common to see children and the elderlies with smart phones. Following the increase in the presence of mobile devices in our society, technology has also advanced to match by having mobile applications created for these devices. This report studies the various factors that affect an emergency response team's ability to respond to emergency situations in the most efficient manner. These factors are used as a guideline in the creation of a mobile application to be used by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). Through this, an app is designed to maximise the efficiency of the nation's emergency response force when a disaster occurs.
