As an established University ranking 4th worldwide in engineering and technology, Nanyang Technological University(NTU) is also riding on the wave of e-learning to provide innovative learning experience other than traditional classroom learning. It is constantly expanding its capabilities to produce quality online courses based on latest technologies. One of the online courses NTU has been working on is Data Structures and Algorithms in Computer Science and it plays a major role in developing software applications and programs. The objective of this project was to design an interactive online learning courseware that focuses on the topic of Recursion. Recursion is an important technique to be applied in writing algorithms in Computer Science but is seen as one of the most difficult concepts to grasp with. The design of the courseware was targeted to tackle the challenge of learning Recursion and challenges of building an effective online course. The courseware was developed on Moodle, a learning management system.
