Summary: | This report investigates the effectiveness of a Wireless Network System using Ultrasonic Sensors in studying the human gait symmetry. Unscented Kalman Filter is being used to extract the gait parameters which is then validated against the results of a Motion Capture System. The system comprises of 2 sets of Mobile Nodes which consist of an ultrasonic sensor each and 2 sets of Anchor Nodes which consist of 4 ultrasonic sensors each. The Anchor Nodes’ positions are prefixed known positions. Radio Frequency modules are used to synchronise the data transmission between the Mobile Nodes and the Anchor Nodes. The results from this study will assist in understanding if the proposed Wearable Ultrasonic Sensor Network is reliable for human gait analysis. |
