description In the 3D printing industry, plastic filaments commonly used to create three dimensional models. However, in the recent years, there has been an increase in researches and development of using ceramics as filaments for 3D printing to create structures. A study of the properties that are required for developing a paste that is suitable for 3D printing was carried out. The experiment was carried out by mixing Silicon Carbide powder with different types of dispersants and rheology modifier such that a suitable property of the paste can be developed. The properties that significant to developing the pastes are the viscosity, density, and porosity of the test sample. The properties are affected by the quantity of dispersants and rheology modifier that are added into the Silicon Carbide powder. The amount of dispersant and rheology modifier added determines how liquid the paste will be and how thick the paste will be respectively. The recommendations for future works focuses on how the experiments can be conducted to ensure that the results achieved are more accurate in determining the properties.
