description This project aims to provide a comprehensive comparison among the seven deterministic bond stress-slip models developed in the past researches, and thus, further enhance their applicability by establishing the bond-slip statistical cloud models. The core of this project is focused on the bond-slip design model for unconfined reinforced concrete that governs by splitting failure. Seven deterministic bond stress-slip models and 90 sets of experimental specimens that exhibited splitting failures have been collected from literature studies. Modelling of errors were conducted in terms of qualitative and quantitative analysis. In the context of qualitative analysis, graphical comparisons between the analytical and empirical bond-stress slip curve were performed. In addition, characteristic points such as peak bond stress and residual bond stress were compared against analytical outcomes. Meanwhile, for the case of quantitative analysis, integral absolute errors (IAE) were computed. Two most accurate models were shortlisted for development of bond-slip cloud model. In addition, two statistical parameters, namely expected values and standard deviations of ultimate bond stresses were determined to establish the bond-slip cloud models of both shortlisted models. Following that, the enhanced models were compared with experimental specimens and the best bond-slip statistical model was chosen to be the final proposed model in this project.
