description Shipping is the most widely used way of transportation for dry bulk cargos, which has been researched a lot in the past. However, recently there are many new factors arising that would influence dry bulk shipping’s future. Shipping market has stayed down for years, but with global economic recovering, is now a turning point? The very objective of this report is to analyze present intra-Asia shipping market and forecast how it will be in the future, with a focus on dry bulk shipping. In this report, after intensive literature review, a Delphi study were conducted to determine several main drivers that could influence dry bulk shipping, as well as their degrees of impact. Experts’ opinions together with data and information gathered were discussed. Finally, an “Opportunities, Threats and Uncertainties” analysis was performed. We found that shipping market now is most probable at the stage of recovery. Asia will continue to be at the center-stage of dry bulk shipping market. World economy is improving. The shipping demands of major dry bulks iron ore, coal and grain are expected to grow steadily. On the other hand, on the supply side of shipping service, the problem of over-supplying has become less intensive recently. Market uncertainties may be caused by Trump’s new policies and Chinese “One Belt One Road” initiative may provide new opportunities to the dry bulk shipping market. At the end of this report, recommendations are provided to different shareholders in shipping industry.
