description In this project, our aim is to create a serious escape game implementation for dementia patients and elderly to cater for their rehabilitative needs. Escape games have long been known to create mental stimulations which can unlock a player’s creativity and problem-solving capabilities, as well as foster clear and effective team building skills amongst groups. As such, it may potentially lead to greater active participation from dementia patients, as they can engage and learn with other patients with similar symptoms during the rehabilitation process. A total of five game puzzles have been developed using various hardware and software applications, each targeted at different aspects of dementia or stages of dementia. Furthermore, we have conducted a prototype evaluation as well as user evaluation of all the hardware and software games in the process, with the results showing general consensus of the elderly towards the Rehabilitative Escape Game.
