Resumo:Walking is one of the most commonly used transport methods. Research has shown that there is an increasing number of people who are focused on their mobile devices while walking. As such, the number of injuries and fatal deaths involving pedestrians has been increasing in Singapore. In this project, a mobile application, with an intuitive interface that is suitable for all users to use will detect other pedestrian users (e.g. PMD users, cyclists) who are travelling at a faster speed than people who are walking, and alert users who are using their phones to make sure they are aware of their surroundings. We hope such communication could be useful in preventing accidents and keep our pedestrian paths a safe place for all users.
