description | In Singapore, one in ten people are permanent residents. As of 2017, PRs make up 9.3% of our population, or 526,600 in total. But while they may seem like citizens on the surface, integrating may be a challenge.
Over the past decade, a series of policy changes targeted at permanent residents in Singapore have been introduced in housing, education and healthcare, leading to rising costs and heavier restrictions in day-to-day life. But while some have taken it in stride, these changes have proven a roadblock to others as they attempt to integrate into Singapore society.
Our project delves into how permanent residents find their place in this little red dot we call home. |
