description The usage of social platforms has been increasing exponentially due to numerous reasons such as the constant connectedness, relationship building and ease of obtaining information. However, there exists issues on utilizing them in a more productive and educative way. This project offers a developed web-based intelligent social platform for students and professors, to aid users to utilize social platforms that addresses the above issue. In addition, given the rapid growth in digital information, there is a need to introduce recommendation engine into the system, to ensure the relevance of information conveyed to users. Thenceforth, there are two aspects that constitutes this project; the development of the platform and the proposal of a data recommendation engine.
