description In a self-run Makerspace, it is inevitably challenging to do inventory management & control without the constant supervision of a manager. Facility management is usually a challenge when there is a high demand for limited spaces. In this project, we explore ways to convert the manual Inventory & Facility Management System into one that operates on automation to eliminate the need for manual labor and processes. To achieve this, a centralized online portal will be developed using a technology stack comprising of React (Front End, JavaScript Library), Express (Back End, JavaScript Framework) and MySQL. The development of the online portal has met the fundamental functions of inventory management, which will allow administrators to keep track of the inventory in the space, as well as allow users to request for the inventory items. It is hoped that the application will be able to be actively utilized in Makerspaces.
