description | A 230VAC modified sine wave power supply was designed and built. The power inverter circuit converts 12VDC from the battery source into 230VAC output. The circuit involve different stages to convert a square wave input signal into a modified sine wave output signal. The modified sine wave power supply is capable to provide 230VAC backup power of 100W to electronic devices at a cheaper cost.
The power inverter circuit was designed to achieve 230VAC output voltage by making use of a 6-0-6V center tapping transformer to step up the voltage level. The outcome of each stages will be analyse and discuss in this report based on some theoretical formulas/calculations. The final outcome of the project is to deliver a prototype of the designed power supply. |
