description Iris Recognition have been found to be one of the most accurate and reliable form of authentication in biometrics. Today, the most common used iris recognition system in the field was produced by Dr. John Daugman. Since then more research, development and application of the system have been completed due to the rise in popularity and decreasing cost of the iris recognition technology. With the aid of MATLAB using Daugman’s Algorithm, it can be modelled as an iris recognition system. Most experiments are done by using available database of iris images online, few are done by actual iris image. Therefore, this project would experiment the iris recognition system using actual captured iris images. Lastly. with the problems and shortcomings identified, recommend for future work improvement. Research in iris or biometrics recognition technology itself will never be sufficient despite the advantages as no technology, no matter how secure, cannot guarantee the system to be 100% safe. In addition, hackers nowadays are constantly finding for possible loop holes in the recognition system.
