description | Soft robot is a new type of robot that grabs the attention of many. The design of a soft robot takes inspiration from biomimicry and the interaction of living creatures and their surroundings. Adopting from the movements and structure of a living creature allows a soft robot to be flexible and adaptable in unstructured or unfamiliar environments and to move in a complicated manner. This paper will review and classify the various application areas and designs of a soft robot, from its inspirations, computation used for the designs, materials used, actuating mechanisms, and how the various soft robots are tested, be it with simulation or physically. A soft robot is then designed, fabricated, and the prototype will be tested. A proposal of modifications and adaptations to multiple functions will also be discussed on the prototype. |
