Description
Summary:We studied the opinion formation in growing networks and observed the correlation between network growth and opinion formation. Numerical simulations are adopted as the main approach for this study. Specifically, We adopted the Deffuant model as the basic opinion formation and the growth and preferential attachment as the main schemes driving the network growth, while subject to opinion formation constraints. By comparing the generated networks against those generated by classic models, e.g., the Baraba ́si-Albert model with growth and preferential attachment but without any opinion formation or constraints, we reveal some interesting insights into how different opinions and their evolution may affect the growth and dynamics of social networks.
