Impact of Asian crisis on Singapore's Asian currency unit.
Asian Currency Unit had grown tremendously from the support by the government since it started in 1968. Year 1997 would have been another run-of-the-mill for ACU if not for the Asian Financial Crisis. During this time,ACU loans to non-bank customers recorded a historical plunge.
