Floating Market has threatened. Based on these important values and based on the
strategic value of the region with all its potential, it is necessary to assess the
sustainability of Murara Kuin Floating Market area through placemaking approach as an
idea or a tool to assess an area so the are can be improved.
This study aims to determine the potential and conditions of travel products as well as
the linkages between tourism attraction in the area and to determine the condition of
tourism products through placemaking approach. Throgh placemaking approach, the
researcher expects to find and identify strategic factors that are needed to get attention
to support the sustainability of Muara Kuin Floating Market area�s tourism products. This
research used descriptive qualitative method with 95 respondents. The result of the
questionaire is further described on the sustainability aspects of tourism based on the
functions and activities, access and linkage, the area's image as well as comfort and
sociability of the area.
The results showed that the aspect of a tourist attraction is in good condition, the
amenities aspects is less good, and aspects of accessibility is in good condition. When
analyzed under the conditions of tourism products through placemaking approach, the
aspects of the function and activity conditions is sufficient/moderate, the access aspects
of the link condition is good, the condition of comfort and image aspects is less good,
and aspects of sosiability is in good condition. Strategic factors that need to be
considered so the area can be sustained are public space so it can accommodate the
activity, increased the connectivity between a tourist attraction, repair and preservation
of the environment, and communities involvement in tourism development. The
development guideline to make Muara Kuin Floating Market area sustains are enhancing
functions and activities, strengthening the connectivity between a tourist attraction in the
region, strengthening the image of cleanliness and security of the area, and held
socialization tourism awareness in order to make public accept the tourism effort. |
