Summary: | Background: The Prambanan Regional Public Hospital has been
established for over a year which previously is an inpatients health center.
Establishment of the hospital aimed to be a referral hospital in the eastern
and southern Sleman districts. Changes over the function of the clinic to a
hospital management system affects pharmaceuticals, especially in the
planning process a drug must be tailored to real needs in the
hospital. Planning Prambanan drugs in hospitals are still using the
previous year drug use has not been based on existing treatment
guidelines at the Hospital, in guessing this is because the planning
process is not maximized. Observation of the availability of drugs found in
drug emptiness Installation Hospital Pharmacy. Based on the problems
that happen we need to hold the evaluation of drug demand planning in
hospitals.
Purpose: To evaluate the planning needs of the drug in Prambanan
Hospital Yogyakarta in 2010-2011.
Methods: The study was designed as a descriptive study using
retrospective data on the years 2010-2011.
Results: Planning the drug at its inception (2009) Prambanan hospitals
conducted by the Department of Health and in 2010 planning the
installation of pharmaceutical drugs by using the method of
consumption. Drug plan formularies because it had not been based on the
formation of PFT, the standard treatment has not made and the
appropriateness of drugs based DOEN very low, in 2010 by 51.65% and
42.24% for the year 2011. The number of human resources is still lacking
in pharmaceutical installations and have never followed training on drug
management and management information system is still manual. The
percentage of empty drug stocks in 2010 approximately 67.54% and in
2011 approximately 72.12%, showing high rates of drug emptiness. Drugs
broken / expired in 2010, approximately 19.21% and approximately 6.67%
in 2011.
Conclusion: Drug needs planning was affected by the unestabilished
organizational structure therefore, it caused an unlearned description of
each officer�s duties, low quality of human resources, a manual
information systems, the lower use of DOEN, formularies formed
differently with treatment guidelines that can not be used as a reference.
It also found damaged / expired drugs and empty drug.
