| description | Background: An attractive and comfortable room layout design of private dental
clinic is one of the marketing strategies that can attract and provide satisfaction to
patients. The room layout design also plays an important role in the effectiveness
and efficiency of operational activities in dental practice. Practice place which is
planned and organized well will make the workers doing the activity to a
minimum, efficiently work, and without stress. The study aimed to identify factors
affecting interest of dentists to follow the room layout design of private dental
clinic.
Method: The study was a survey that used cross sectional approach. Subjects
consisted of 100 dentists, who were taken purposively. Research instruments were
questionnaires with Likert method that have met the test of validity (correlation
values � 0.30) and reliability (α > 0.60), to measure knowledge, attention,
perception, motivation, attitude, support from colleagues and group, about the
room layout design of private dental clinic. Univariate, product moment
correlation, and double regression were used to analyze the data.
Result: Result of regression analysis showed that, variable of knowledge
(p=0.266), attention (p=0.771), perception (p=0.775), support from colleagues
(p=0.543) did not influence to the interest of dentists to follow the room layout
design of private dental clinic. The variable of motivation, attitude and support
from group about the room layout design, significantly affected about 72.5% to
the variable of interest (R
2
=0.725), with the largest contribution was attitude
variable (25%, Partial Eta Square=0.250).
Conclusion: 1). The better the motivation, attitude, and support from group, the
greater interest of dentists to follow the good room layout design of private dental
