description Instant ginger products "Khas Jahe Sarabba Instan Bulungan" is one of the excellent products of District Bulungan that produced by home industry Apung Industries Centre. Main problem of this product is, it�s packaging is not attractive. This condition cause the consument do not buy iti when it displays in the supermarket.The product can not sell it self. To overcome the main problem the recearch is aimed to developt its packaging design, so that its be ames more attractive for consumer in functional an visual aspect respectively. Development of packaging design by Value Engineering method approach consisting of stage information, stage of creativity and analysis stage. At this stage of analysis, carried out an assessment of the prototype that has been created and conduct information analysis and cost of production. The ratio of performance analysis and cost analysis called value. The best concept of packaging design wac achieved, when the concept had highest value ratio between value of performance and cost. The results showed, the best concept is, the primary packaging is 0.05mm PP plastic bag measuring 7cm x 8cm and secondary packaging is 280 grams duplex box measuring 8cmx8cmx9cm with green base color.
