| Summary: | This research is titled �The Performance of the 1st and 2nd Period Regional Indonesian
Broadcasting Commission of Yogyakarta Special Region�. It is a state�s independent
institution that is assigned to support the local government in regulating broadcasting matter
in the province. The research aims to evaluate the performance and achievement of the
commission. Considering it is a new institution, it is necessary to continuously evaluate its
performance in realizing the broadcasting democratization and guaranteeing the diversity of
media ownership and media content. It is expected that the commission can guarantee that
people always receive appropriate and correct information, to help regulating broadcasting
infrastructure, to build healthy competition climate between broadcasting media, and to
support the realization of the vision and missions of the province�s local development.
It is expected that the results of the research can be valuable feedbacks for the local
legislative assembly, local government, broadcasting agencies, people and the institution itself
in improving this concern. Information about its performance and achievement is used as the
ground for giving it supports in term of politics, budget and facility, and for giving award to
any well-performing commissioner.
The research is conducted with qualitative approach using balanced scorecard. Based
on the balanced scorecard, performance of an organization will be determined well if it is able
to keep the balance between the perspectives of its finance, management process and
stakeholders� satisfaction, and the perspectives of its learning process and development. Each
perspective is measured in percentage value based on the number of indicators belonging to
them.
