Summary: | This research explores how does the processes of politicization of ethnicity by elites
of Muyu and Wambon and what does the implications for inter-ethnic relations, Muyu and
Wambon in Boven Digoel district. The diversity of cultures and ethnic groups in Papua has
been the traditional pattern of political leadership as well. Mansoben (dissertation 1994) said
there are four traditional patterns of political leadership, namely authoritative system of male
leadership, the King system of leadership, the Ondoafi System of Leadership, the mixture
system of leadership. The Kayapak and the Kopndaman are part of the authoritative male
system of leadership (big man). It means that the power is obtained through the effort of
achievement.
