| Summary: | This study focus on function words, it is the one of components to measure the
grammatical sentence whether that appears in children utterance, kinds of sentences, and Mean
Length of children Utterance (MLU).
The research used case study approach and naturalistic observation, and it used one
child. She has Indonesia first language with Muna accent, and she was two-nine years old, then it
was continued when she was three-two years old to three-seven years old. The data acquired was
house recording, visual-audio by using MP4 recorder, It took diary for seven months. After the
data had been collected, the analysis was undertaken based on the problems have been proposed.
The data result shown that function words have acquired when a subject was two-nine years
old, Preposition di, dengan, dari, sampai and the last preposition ke-. While, coordinative
conjunctor dan/dengan informal appeared first, sub-ordinatif karena, the last is waktu. Third,
correlative conjunction tidak�.hanya appeared last. Article that modifies noun La, Wa, and
yang. Then, particle that adopts from Indonesia language, and Muna language. While, Imperatif
sentence was the most in two-nine years old. While, three years old declarative sentence was the
most than other sentences. And the length of utterance in a sentence consists of 4-5 words when
the subject was two-nine years to three years old words and MLU was 4-5
