Summary: | This research is aimed at describing the spirituality paradigm and
solidarity in diversity reflected in religious dialogue and high level achievement
of human being as a perfect living creature in world. The object of this research is
a novel entitled Al-Chemist by Paulo Coelho (1988).This research used the theory
of Ibnu arabis hermeneutic and the concepts of spirituality and diversity as well
as another supporting theories.
The result of this research shows that when the human being had ability to
make harmonious relation to another human being, nature and God, he or she had
got achieved his or her high level achievement as a perfect living creature (divine
personality/Imago Dei). To reach this therefor, someone must have ability to
adaptate him or her self toward substantive and hierarchical steps.
These steps are the first, to have ability to subdue egoism (a kind of
attitude which regards that one self is better than another living creature ). The
second, Hijrah, is to go outside of our self or our circumstance in the effort of
making our self whether in body or soul become much better than before. The
third, Mahabbah, to have a love and a mercy toward another living creature
moreover to God as the creature of the world. And the fourth, Imago Dei, is the
last step which is reached by human being to get the high level achievement as the
perfect living creature in the world. The fifth, Religious Dialogue, is the highest
aspect of human being in their relationship with the other creature in world. It is
well-applicable in their life interaction as long as he or she has an ability to
recognize his or her position as the leader of this earth. Religious dialogue is the
consequency of spiritual path formulated by muhabbah, a concept of love( how to
interact well to other creature) which is in turned form the perfect living creature
in the world.
Al-Chemist thus means as a high level spirituality achievement of human
being as a perfect living creature (insan kamil) on this earth which is called as
khalifatul fil ardhi in concept of Islam.
