| Summary: | This research is aimed to understand and analysis whether Traditional
Batik Motifs Creation of Papua has got legal protection from copyright laws, also
the disclosure factors against the legal protection offer to the traditional batik
motifs creation of Papua..
This research is normative juridical, that is research based on library
research to obtain secondary data on law sector. To complete and support data
obtained fro library research, empiric juridical research is endured via field
research to obtain primary data. Data is analyzed then with qualitative method.
The result of the research are : (1) Traditional Batik Motifs of Papua that
has been registered at Directorate General of Intellectual Property will obtain
copyright certificate and legal protection based on copyright laws. Until now,
there is several traditional batik motifs of papua that has not yet been registered,
for that reason, there is still existed some plagiarism to the batik motifs. The
factors that influence pre creator did not registering the results of his creations can
be classified into internal factors and external factors
