Summary: | The research goal is to formulate the optimization model of Bais TNI
Intelligence Unit in order to support the eradication of terrorism in Indonesia. The
research was conducted in Bais TNI Intelligence Unit. As for the background is
that until now still frequent acts of terrorism in various regions in Indonesia, while
Bais TNI Intelligence Unit of the Intelligence unit that has a job in the field of
intelligence has always held a counter-intelligence operations in order to eradicate
terrorism.
The research method used is descriptive method with survey and
qualitative and quantitative approaches. Sampling technique using a purposive
sampling method, the determination of the sample with a certain consideration, so
that a selected sample of 20 respondents who understand and are engaged in the
field of counter-intelligence, especially intelligence. The data was collected
through observation, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis
using the SWOT method.
The results suggest that an alternative formulation of the optimization
model of the Counter Intelligence Bais TNI units based on the identification of
internal and external factors, followed by the Internal-External Matrix analysis
with SWOT method recommended to choose: (1) Strategy SO: Increased Exercise
& mastery of technology and performance improvements to support Combating
Terrorism (2) Strategy ST: Increased nationalism to deal with transnational crime
and increase exercise to deal with changes in the political and national security,
(3) WO Strategies: Increased cooperation and intelligence community and the
improvement of infrastructure facilities, infrastructure and community
participation, (4) Strategy WT: Contra Upgrades Intel to face transnational crime
and increase ability in the field of information technology. On the basis of these
recommendations the optimization of the Counter Intelligence Unit Satintel Bais
TNI is to enhance counterintelligence capabilities through education, training and
assignment as well as the fulfillment special material Intelligence tailored to the
development of information technology.
