description Microhydro Power Center (MHP) has been developed as an energy provider. MHP control system in Indonesia has been widely used automated control systems. This is done so that the operation and monitoring can be done remotely. One model remote control MHP known as SCADA. The main part of the SCADA is the Master Station (MS), Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) and Communication Systems. Communication system in the SCADA can be built in a choice of either wired or wireless. Remote control system can be built using Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN). The application of WSN in the operation of SCADA able to simplify installation and improve reliability of communication. This study implement ZigBee technology for data communication control SCADA MHP. ZigBee was chosen because operating costs and license free, OSI features and low cost device that is suitable for MHP applications. On the hardware implementation of ZigBee is divided into several sections: 1 unit Coordinator at the Master Station (MS), 2 End Device that at each point of RTU and 1 Router as the hopping data between Coordinator and End Device. Longest distance between Coordinator and End Device to passing Router can reach 645 meters, testing was conducted in an LOS (Line of Sight). ZigBee RSSI signal is used to look at the strength of the received signal at the Coordinator as a data collectors. RSSI value (-dBm) become smaller at a maximum distance, it means the signal strength that occurs at the point of data hopping is lower. ZigBee-based data communications for SCADA network has been able to build a well constructed on the joins a network mode between Coordinator - Router - End Device at a longest distance is 645 meters and a signal strength is -82dBm.
