Summary: | The research, titled Doraemon Comic in Japanese-Bahasa Indonesia Translation
aims to reveal the translation work of comic Doraemon Doraemon in comic book form
version of the Indonesian language as a form of one form of literary reception. Doraemon
comic chosen in this study because of Doraemon is the most popular Japanese manga
comics worldwide. This comic is a reflection of the Japanese people who are able to
reconcile the life of a modern high technology with traditional customs and culture. This
study uses the theory of translation of literary works attributed to cultural differences
between countries are the source of literary works by the country where literary works
translated in accordance with that proposed by Peter Newmark.
Researcher selects the Doraemon comic volume by purposive sampling. Volume 15 to
20 are translated by Tita Feronty selected for use as a source of research data is due in the
fifth volume of the issues to be raised most often found when compared with other volume
translated by different translators.
These results indicate that the comic Doraemon comics with the original version of the
Indonesian version there is a difference in the physical comic. In addition Doraemon is not
just ordinary children's stories but figures a representation of the state of the Japanese when
the comic was written after the defeat of World War II. Cultural differences between
Indonesia and Japan led to the comic story elements such as social relations among the
characters, story setting, theme and message of the story is adjusted in the process of
translation. Cultural elements that appear in comics stories some of which are translated by
matching the right, but some are translated to the equivalent of that right so that it can not
make a mistake in the reader an understanding of Japanese culture.
