aims to reveal near death experiences experienced by the followers of
different religions. Is the difference in religious background will affect
their NDEs description. Are there differences in interpretation and
meaning derived from their NDEs for the continuation of life and their
religious.
The participant in this study were three people who have different
religious backgrounds, namely Christianity, Islam and Hinduism. By
using a phenomenological approach, this study is expected to reveal
phenomena that are the focus of research in more depth and
comprehensive. The data collection technique is depth interview.
Analysis and interpretation techniques of the data is a explication model
where was developed by Von Eckartsberg and Schweitzer.
The results of this study indicate that differences in religious
background affect the description of NDEs. Those differences would
affect the interpretation and meaning of NDEs. In addition, this study
also strengthens the assumption that near-death experiences play a
role in affecting change in attitudes and behavior later in life and usually
leads to changes in attitudes and behaviors in a more positive when
compared with previous state. |
