Summary: | Sexual abuse have a big impact for the children as victims, among others, is the emergence of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), trauma symptoms
and behavioral disturbances. The purpose of this study was to examine the trauma therapy in reducing symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder in adolescent victims of sexual abuse. Subjects were adolescent victims of
sexual abused, show symptoms of PTSD, with the perpetrators instead of the
immediate family. This study use the small N experiment with ABA design as
the method, with Children Trauma Therapy as the treatment, and the
measuring tool is a Child PTSD Symtoms Scale (CPSS).
Subjects were treated by Children Trauma Therapy (CBT and family therapy)
to manage fluctuating emotions, reduce negative thoughts, anxiety, and
improving communication patterns or relationships within the family in order to
reach a therapeutic communication in the family. Psychoeducation provided to
give an understanding of the events experienced violence and its impact on
victims. The results showed that post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms
decreased after administration treatment. Subjects and families gave a
positive response to the Trauma Therapy.
