measurement, and analysis. Sampling is accomplished by the purposive sampling
method, in which the data and samples collected have specific characteristicsand
areconsidered representative for each analysis unit.Descriptive analysis method is
chosen to analyze physical and nonphysical environmental data and to design the
environmental management strategies.
Results show that marble mining in Tunua village causes positive and
negative effects to the surrounding environment. Management strategies suitable
for the environment are: 1) Reclamation of post mining sites after defining the
suitable reclamation models, 2)Investigation of the socioeconomic and
sociocultural effects to prevent conflicts. The socioeconomic strategy is to provide
alternative solutionsregarding new employments which eventually will increase
income. The sociocultural strategy is to give perception to the people that the
mining has ended and the results will be used for regional development,
