Senggakan is the builder of lively atmosphere which becomes climax of a show. Research of senggakan is rarely. That is the reason for the researcher conducted the study. Senggakan is analogous as play. Senggakan Banyumasan is a play on tones and words with or without meanings which played in a frame of a gendhing. As a play, senggakan is free and voluntary but remain within certain limits, where such limits will determinesenggakan pattern. The limits are classified into musical factor (textual) and nonmusical factor (contextual) limits. One of the musical factors is the ongoing gendhing, while non musical factors are the artist, cultural background and performance context. Senggakan is universal and has diverse musical pattern, including the rhythm that are energetic, dynamic, spirit encourages, respond to the gendhing. Word play in senggakan may take form of syllables or satire with political, agricultural, economical, and even sexual themes. Banyumas people have their own aesthetics taste in appraising senggakan Banyumasan. They assume that more senggakan in the gendhing and more frequent, will be more uplifting so that the lengger show will be succeed.
