Description
Summary:Influence of diffusion on the local stability of the equilibrium solution in competition model of two species is discussed in this thesis. The discussion begins from constructing a competition model of two species and then analyzing the stability of the equilibrium solution in the model. There are four equilibrium solutions in competition model of two species. These equilibrium solutions are also the equilibrium solutions in competitive cross-diffusion model. But not necessarily apply also to the local stability of each equilibrium solution. The analysis results show that the reaction diffusion does not have effect on the asimptotically behavior of the local stability of the equilibrium solution in the model. On the other hand, it's different with the presence of cross diffusion. The equilibrium solutions in competition model of two species which locally asymptotically stable will remain locally asymptotically stable with the presence of the cross diffusion if satisfied certain condition. Furthermore, in this thesis also discussion about how to find traveling wave solutions of competitive cross-diffusion model of two species. The method used to find traveling wave solutions of the model is a generalization of Malfliet's tanh method.
