Summary: | The roads from Semen to Ngluwar is the route connecting between salam and
ngluwar subdistric in Magelang distric. Besides of local activity, this roads also use
for alternative route and evacuation. It necessary treatment and repaire to serve the
traffic as it function. Evaluation needs before treatment and repaire. This research go
in a certain direction to detect the type, the level, and how to repaire the pavement
damage road from semen to ngluwar.
Implementation of research include assessing the condition of road by visual
using Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method, it devide semen to ngluwar road over
5,2km become parts that have a measurement of 5,5m x 100m, subgrade testing with
Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) method, the layer of pondation test using
California Bearing Ratio (CBR) method, and traffic survey to know the operational
average of traffic everyday. Analysis overlay use AASHTO method,1993.
The result of this research showed that, of 52 units sample visually kind of
damage are alligator cracking block cracking, depression, long and transversal
cracking, patching, raveling and weatering, rutting. Alligator cracking is the
dominant damage with area 4068,61 m2 or 14,23% from total road between Semen-
Ngluwar and PCI average value 50,06 or medium level of pavement condition (fair).
The result of DCP test got the CBR value of the subgrade on average 10,33%, and
representing CBR 6%, the result of the field CBR value of padding pondation test on
average 65,70%, the result of traffic survey be obtained LHR(annually daily traffic)
2397 car/day. Repairing the damage is done according to the location, type and level
of damage. If additional overlay needed, from thickness layer analysis with 10 years
planning time got the value 5 cm thickness.
