Description
Summary:The research focuses on community adaptation to climate change in the Merawu- Sub Watershed in Indonesia. It is a part of the Serayu Watershed, one of the most degraded watersheds in Indonesia that makes the area more vulnerable to any impact from climate change. The aim of the research is to identify the gap between current local adaptation and government support that will enable us to propose ways to improve policies to more directly reflect the reality of local communities needs in climate change. The research is qualitative research with depth-interview method and descriptive analysis. Local people who depend largely on ecosystem services become the most vulnerable party of the impact. They have to adjust to the change with some adaptation action. They have local knowledge to adapt. Community adaptation is different spatially but it links from one place to another, for upstream area to downstream area. Not all local adaptation gives positive impact to the environment
