Cardiac signal data acquisition for the purpose of research is still a problem when using a standard EKG equipment from the manufacturer. The problems are the expensive equipment and the conversion of images into digital data. By using instrumentation amplifiers and electronic components in the market can be realized simply by using a prototype ECG module USB interface Dataq DI-148U for cardiac signal data acquisition. Cardiac signal data record is still mixed with noise can be eliminated by digital filter and the analysis is performed to find the frequency of heartbeats per minute which is the first step in the diagnosis of cardiac abnormalities. Stages of research include the design and realization of a prototype ECG, cardiac signal data acquisition and processing of the ECG signal. Using AD620 instrumentation amplifier circuit, an analog filter circuit for passing signals at frequencies from 0.05 to 105 Hz and a notch filter T-type network to eliminate the electric power interference 50 Hz. Noise that still arises are baseline wander noise and electric power interference 50 Hz, to reduce it used butterworth IIR digital filter. Cues that have been reduced the noises, ECG can be done the analysis to determine the frequency of heart rate using a simple threshold method. From research conducted, it has to be realized prototype ECG. Baseline wander noise can be suppressed by using a digital filter IIR Butterworth high pass on the cut off frequency 0.95 Hz. SNR values using IIR butterworth filter on average above 20 dB. The use of adhesive floating electrode also showed noise arising in the ECG signal recording is smaller. After the ECG signal has been through pre-processing, the threshold method can be used to find the peak R-R interval to determine the frequency of heart beats per minute (BPM).
