Summary: | Given the importance of the calendar, every human civilization is required
to create a calendar system that can manage the social and religious activities. The
urgent position of the calendar is become a tracking system and a divider, as well
as the source of order and identity of a community. In the religion of Islam, there
is a command to manage time by sorting them into a system calendar can be used
all Muslims. One of Muslim leaders who gave the idea of a global Islamic
calendar is Muhammad Syaukat 'Audah with zone calendar concept and
Jamaluddin Abd Ar Raziq with integrated calendar concept.
This study aims to find the idea of a global Islamic calendar with concept
of Muhammad Syaukat 'Audah and Jamaludin Abd Ar-Raziq and its influence on
the day of Arafah. The data in this research was collected with literature methods,
and the analysis used a qualitative analysis by inductive thinking. The results of
the analysis indicate that the concept of a calendar which was initiated by
Muhammad Syaukat 'Audah still leaves the problem of Arafat fasting, whereas the
calendar idea of Jamaluddin Abd ar-Raziq is more consistent and can unify the
day of' Arafah and the other days all around the world.
