Summary: | Background: According to WHO�s data, more than 50% of infants and children
mortality related to the lack of nutrient and malnutrition. Because of that, the
nutritional problems need to be handled quickly and accurately. The incidences of
malnutrition have threatened the quality of young generation in Indonesia in the
future. The paradigm of health program that oriented to the treatment of diseases
have to change become prevention oriented. Children with malnutrition will affect
the human resources, because nutrient is one of the factors that affect the quality
of human resources. The lack of nutrient in a child will causes some serious
effects, like the failure of physical growth and the development and intelligence of
a child are not optimal. The other causes are the lowering of productivity and the
immunity of the body to fight against diseases that will increases the risk of illness
and mortality. Related to that problem, the governments of Bantul Regency make
an innovation program, Desa Bebas 4 Masalah Kesehatan (DB4MK), there are
free of maternal mortality, infant mortality, dengue fever and malnutrition.
Especially for malnutrition, the objective is to accelerate the decreasing number of
malnutrition of the infant.
Objective: The aim of this research is to evaluate the effort to solve the
malnutrition problem through Desa Bebas 4 Masalah Kesehatan (DB4MK)
program, especially in nutrient sector, the role of stakeholder and the role of
family that have an infant with malnutrition.
Methods: This research uses qualitative method to get the data that related to
Desa Bebas 4 Masalah Kesehatan (DB4MK) program, the role of government, the
role of community leader and the family to handle the case of infant malnutrition.
The data are collected via a deep interview, aimed group discussion and secondary
data, like recording and reporting from Department of Health or Community
Health Center.
Results: Effort to solve the problem of malnutrition through Desa Bebas 4
Masalah Kesehatan (DB4MK) program specially in nutrient sector is able to
decreases the prevalence of malnutrition in Bantul Regency, and the role of
stakeholder and family that have an infant with malnutrition give their support.
Conclusion : Desa Bebas 4 Masalah Kesehatan (DB4MK) program with reward
is able to decreases the prevalence of malnutrition.
