Summary:Background. Diabetes Mellitus can cause a complication in the blood vessel. Since increase DM of RAGE as the result from ROS improvement. RAGE also can cause dysfunction of endothelial cells, improvement of extracellular matrix, wall thickness of blood vessel, and those variables are to now result on increasing of blood pressure.The aim of this research is to study the effect of physical exercise towards RAGE, wall thickness of blood vessel and blood pressure. Method. The study was an experiment with post test group design only. The subject was 15 Sprague Dawley rats, male, aged 3 months by inducing streptozotocyn, dosage 35mg/kg. The subjects were divided into three groups, hyperglycemia with physical exercise, hyperglycemia and control. Physical exercise had been given for 9 weeks, 5 times in a week with incline 0 degrees and it�s equal to 50-70 % VO2 max. Result. RAGE expression for both groups with and those without physical exercise (p<0,05). Differences blood pressure for hyperglycemia group (p<0,05). Wall thickness of blood pressure was meaningless for both with and without physical exercise (p>0,05). A correlation between expression of RAGE and systolic blood pressure (p<0,01,r=0,94). There was a correlation between wall thickness of blood vessel and blood pressure at group with physical exercise (p<0,03,r=0,93). This study also found expression of RAGE and wall thickness of blood pressure weren�t correlated (p=0,17). Conclusion: Expression of RAGE in endothelial cells was less at a group with physical exercise. There no difference of blood vessel wall between a group with physical exercise and those in hyperglycemia groups. Blood pressure increased in hyperglycemia group. RAGE and wall thickness of blood vessel weren�t correlated. RAGE and blood pressure increased were correlated in a group with physical exercise, meanwhile a negative correlated between blood vessel wall and blood pressures were shown in a group with physical exercise.
