Summary: | It has shown by several previous researches that the duration of
untreated psychosis (DUP) is influenced by one of the factors, that is stigma
which is felt by both patient and his/her family. The strengths or positive condition
within the family is helping to accelerate both the treatment and psychosisrecovery
process. This research aims to explore the family strengths within the
family with first episode psychosis children. This involves four patients who have
first episode psychosis within three families. The data collection was conducted
through interview, observation, and also the usage of medical recorded data as
an additional information which was needed. The data were obtained from this
research was processed phenomenologically. Therefore, it could obtained
specific themes which gave a description regarded family's strength of
themselves. Moreover, the positive acceptance from the family is very required,
e.g the family receives if one member of the family (children) have psychosis,
they (family) always try to obtain treatment and recovery effort
