Masculinity is divided into two terms, hegemonic masculinity and subordinated masculinities. Hegemonic masculinity is believed to be the dominant masculinity as well as the ideal masculinity and is closely linked to heterosexuality and power. Masculinity is dynamic and can be changed. It is because masculinity is not inherent. Masculinity is in the process of becoming. This means that the labeling of masculinity in someone does not just happen right away, it takes a long time along with conflicts.
